Using Theme Nights For Super Easy Meal Planning

Finding it super tough to find recipes and inspiration for meal planning?

Today, I’m going to talk a little bit about one of the tips that you can use to narrow down your options: theme nights!

The basis is super simple: pick a certain day of the week and a theme to go with it. This can be anything from a type of food to a meal that includes a specific ingredient. Tuesday could be taco or pasta night or Thursday could be seafood night, for example.

Once you’ve nailed down your theme night(s), you can get really creative with the meals you make that week. You can use the ingredients you already have in your home or use special sale offers on certain foods as the basis of your decision (check your local ads online or go to the store to check out sale items!).

This can work really well if you have kids as they’re sure to love the idea of knowing that certain nights will include some of their favorite meals (mine love tacos and quesadillas). All you have to do is make sure that the options are healthy! Another added bonus of theme nights…? It makes it super easy for getting kids involved in meal planning and prepping as they can suggest new ideas to fit the theme(s).

Even if you don’t have kids, having theme nights as part of your meal planning can take some of the stress out of meal planning, especially if you have certain meals or ingredients that you’d love to include in your rotation on a regular basis. And if you get bored with themes and struggle for new inspiration each week, you can always drop them for a bit to keep things fresh.
